A lot of tales come out of the bayous and marshes of Louisiana. The most notable one being the Rougarou. But one legend is real, swamp cows. Locals across coastal Louisiana tell stories of isolated herds of wild-aggressive cattle with no owners roaming the marsh. Having seen one of them myself years ago, I set out on a mission to figure out: Is there any truth to the swamp cow legend?
America has a shrimp problem, and it’s a lot bigger than what ends up on your plate. We spent 20 hours on a Louisiana shrimp boat with a native Gulf shrimper. We talked to LSU researchers and the team behind SeaD Consulting’s DNA shrimp test to uncover the hidden truth about where your shrimp really comes from. What did we find? Mislabeling, destructive foreign farming practices, vanishing traditions, and new legislation that could change everything.
Tell us a little bit more.
What's your big idea? How'd you come across it? What is the story's impact? What is your timeline?
We will get back to you as soon as you can with some ideas of how we can make your story shine.
